#GetHomeSafeHospo

Celebrate Her reacts to the tragic news of the death of Sarah Everard, a 33 year old woman walking home in South London on the 3rd of March, at 9pm, who was abducted in plain sight then murdered.

Celebrate Her called out to women in the UK hospitality industry to share their thoughts and experiences of sexual harassment, spurred on by Sarah’s death and the statistic that * 97% of young women in the UK have been subjected to it.

Just under 500 women in hospitality responded to the survey (conducted on @Celebrate_Her Instagram) with the following results:

91% of women feel unsafe coming home from work

59% of women have been attacked or attempted attack late at night

33% of hospitality work places have employee safety policies in place

73% of women have not been asked by their male counterparts what they can do to help and support them

94% of women feel men don’t fully understand what women go through

72% of people know people that make negative comments about women, both verbally and in WhatsApp groups

81% feel that people are not aware that the #notallmen is a rebuttal to generalised statements and prejudices

98% feel that men can play an integral part in changing safety for women

Celebrate Her will be working on challenging employers in hospitality to acknowledge female safety in the work place and take measures to ensure they can travel home from work without fear.

Celebrate Her will also be working with men at looking at ways they can supportive and make the much needed changes in our industry.
